If your school has a learning management system (LMS) such as Google Classroom, Edmodo, Schoology, or Canvas, you can use it to provide professional development for teachers. There are a few ways to do this:

- Use the LMS to host professional development resources, such as e-learning courses, webinars, or PDFs of articles. Teachers can access these resources at any time.

- Use the LMS to create online professional development pathways. These pathways can include sections on different topics or disciplines. For example, create a Science section with materials that are more relevant to teaching science. Include videos on techniques for teaching science or include explainers on how to use different apps for teaching science.

- Use the LMS to facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs). PLCs are groups of teachers who meet regularly to discuss teaching strategies, share resources, and learn from each other.

- Use the LMS to create a library of professional development videos. These videos can be about different teaching strategies, how to use technology in the classroom, or professional development topics such as goal setting or time management.

- Use the LMS to create a professional development blog. This can be a place for teachers to share their professional development journey, write about what they’re learning, and reflect on their professional practice.

- Use the LMS to create a professional development forum. This can be a place for teachers to ask questions, share resources, and start conversations about professional development topics.

- Use the LMS to give teachers badges for completing professional development courses or activities. Badges can be used to track professional development progress and showcase professional achievements.

- Use the LMS to create professional development surveys. This can be a way to get feedback from teachers about their professional development experiences and needs.

- Use the LMS to create professional development certificates. This can be a way to recognize teachers for completing professional development courses or activities.

- Use the LMS to create a professional development community and host virtual discussions for your teachers. This can be a place for them to share resources, ask questions, and collaborate with each other.

There are many ways to use your school’s learning management system to provide professional development for teachers. By using the LMS to host resources, create courses, or facilitate PLCs, you can help teachers stay up-to-date with the latest professional development trends and techniques. Not only will this benefit the teachers, but it will also benefit the students who will receive a better education as a result.
